House of Lords debate the 25th anniversary of the Web

Posted by: and , Posted on: - Categories: Events

On the 16th January, Baroness Lane Fox led a debate on the 25th birthday of the World Wide Web. In the debate, Lord Bates represented the government and agreed to further respond to the points Baroness Lane Fox raised via a letter.

Lord Bates also wanted to publish this on gov.uk rather than place a hard copy of the letter in the house. So, we are helping out the Department for Culture Media and Sport by posting it on our blog. It’s great to see the House of Lords going digital on these kinds of formalities.

We’re working with lots of different people across government, and with private, public and voluntary partners, to think about how best to celebrate this important birthday. The letters are posted below and you can also hear the debate here - starting at 14:10.
